The TOP 100 Greatest Ever ROCK Frontmen: Joan Jett!

Good afternoon you bunch of metal minions! Do you love rock n roll? Cos I love rock n roll, so put another dime in the jukebox baby...and welcome to the lady who helped make those words famous, Joan Marie Larkin! Theres no Larkin about with this one as she soars gracefully into our top 100 at a nose-bleeding height of 33. We more affectionately know Miss Larkin as the hot rocker Joan Jett!
She is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song "Cherry Bomb". The Blackhearts' version of the song "I Love Rock 'n Roll" was number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982.Jett's other notable hit songs include "Bad Reputation", "Crimson and Clover", "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)", "Light of Day", "I Hate Myself for Loving You" and "Dirty Deeds".
Jett has a mezzo-soprano vocal range. She has three albums that have been certified Platinum or Gold, and has been a feminist icon throughout her career. She has been described as the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll and the Godmother of Punk (I think Patti Smith Might have something to say about that). Godmother of punk? I just thought she was hot! A leathered up chick wielding a musical axe was more than just delightful to watch to a youthed me. Even an old me to be fair! Jett lived in Long Beach, New York, since the late 1970s before moving to Rockville Centre, New York.
From getting her first guitar for Christmas at age 13 to being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at 57, heres a little lowdown of JJ
She was only 15 when she started in the Runaways with drummer drummer Sandy West in 1975. Playing lead guitar the band has success with the iconic single "Cherry Bomb" before breaking up in 1978. After The Runaways broke up Jett left L.A. for a while, but when she returned she found the Germs trying to break into the music scene.
Joan Jett and co-songwriter and co-producer Kenny Laguna were so frustrated that no label waned to distribute Jett's solo album they decided the best plan was to create their own label. Blackheart Records was founded in 1980.
JJ started got her first guitar at 13 and took guitar lessons, but they did not last long when the teacher would discourage her by saying girls don't play rock and roll.
Not everyone was a fan of female rock & roll bands so Jett's former manager Kim Fowley prepared them for the worst by chucking things at them during rehearsals.
She was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame in 2015
She was actually on stage at the induction ceremony in 2014 when she played with Nirvana and stood in for Kurt Cobain.
A fair placing to be fair. Very influential to all that followed her. Probably what, top 5 most influential women in rock?

So there we have it. That's the afternoon ccovered. My alarm is set and I'll be back bright and early tomorrow for number 32. Are you excited...? Dont, just dont answer that !

Ps Short and sweet is the new novel!
